A Brief History

The Adventist Home is located in Livingston, New York.  Over 50 years ago a small group of laymen purchased the former Potts Memorial Sanitarium and its grounds and created the Adventist Home Inc as a retirement center for Seventh-day Adventists, and others who are willing to abide by Seventh-day Adventist lifestyle standards. Subsequently it was given to the Greater New York Conference. This facility has been serving the Greater New York Conference since that time.  The Adventist Home is managed by a local staff and governed by a board appointed by the Greater New York Conference.

The main buildings were used as an assisted living facility until 2005. A nursing home was also established on the property. This has been sold to new management and is located across a private road convenient to the Adventist Home. The Livingston Church was erected on property adjacent to Adventist Home. Church members hold services in the Nursing Home every Sabbath afternoon for the residents.
